Drake Performing Make Me Proud @ Penn State
In the November issue of Cosmo, the star rapper revealed that before her career took off, she once complemented saying, “I kept having doors slammed in my face. I felt like nothing was working.”
“I had moved out on my own, and here I was thinking I’d have to go home,” she continued.
“It was just one dead end after another. At one point, I was, like, ‘What would happen if I just didn’t wake up?’ That’s how I felt. Like maybe I should just take my life?”
Although those were dark days in Nicki’s life, she was able to turn things around and become one of the biggest entertainers in the business.
And though she has had major success, Nicki revealed more goals that she’s looking to achieve in her career:
“I’ll have hundreds of millions of dollars,” Minaj said.
“I will have put out five albums and will have an Oscar and Grammys. And I will be getting married and, a couple of years after that, will have a bun in the oven.”
More of Nicki Minaj’s interview is in the November issue of Cosmo, in stores and on newsstands now.
Nicki Minaj is taking time out to deny rumors that she’s expecting a baby with her hypeman Safarree Samuels.
A representative for Minaj says that’s untrue however and quickly told GossipCop.com,
“She’s NOT pregnant.”
Nicki Minaj can celebrate more than just a new year; the Young Money emcee can now boast that she’s a platinum selling artist.
The RIAA has confirmed that The Barbie’s debut album Pink Friday has been certified platinum with 1 million copies sold.
Pink Friday was certified gold in December with over 500,000 units sold.
Minaj’s album sales have surpassed Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and Jay-Z’s Greatest Hits which were all released on the same day.
I AGREE!!! HOT TRASH!!!
Nicki Minaj’s list of haters continues to grow. This time her former manager and Waka Flocka Flame’s mom, Deb Atney is weighing in on her debut album Pink Friday-calling it “terrible”.
In an interview with VIBE.com, Deb Atney states that she feels Nicki Minaj “let down” her fans with her Young Money debut, stating that she “went to far left” with her “pop” appeal.
“It’s terrible. I like some stuff, but she went too left. I don’t think people were ready for her to come [out with pop],” Atney said in the interview. “When I had Nicki, I really wanted her to sing. That’s why I took her for training cause Nicki loves singing, but she kept saying to me, ‘Deb, I can’t do it yet because people won’t understand.’ And that’s why the [rap] mixture was done to introduce them to all of Nicki.”
Atney also states that Nicki holstered too many “unnecessary” features that took away from her talent.
“I think [Pink Friday] was very disappointing to a lot of her fans. She didn’t need a lot of [the] features,” Atney continued. “That was one of the biggest things like… you gave people so many features, give them you now. Nicki could be so much better because—outside of anything that people say—she’s very multi-talented. I really wish that she would learn to be more of an artist.”
In addition to discussing her feelings on Nicki’s album, Atney also shared her opinion on the beef between Nicki and Lil’ Kim.
“My views on that is that she came too far to go back that route,” Atney said. “Kim does not even have to go there. There are no comparisons to them. Some things are best left unsaid. The whole thing is stupid.
I’m very disappointed that she would go that route. ‘Cause I know all that she was taught. She don’t have to go there with anybody. That was the stuff we always discussed. People had to learn to love Nicki— that’s how the door opened up. It wasn’t about Kim or Foxy or any of the rest of them. So I was just a little disappointed [by her album], but If she likes it, I love it. “
Although Nicki Minaj has gained much success with her debut release of Pink Friday, but not everyone is feeling the debut.
Florida rapstress Khia decided to review the album on her blog and let Nicki have it in what seemed more like a personal attack than an album review.
“This b**ch needs to be SHOT on site…” Khia wrote. “It smells WORSER than the gas that’s coming out of my ASS, from all of the Turkey that I ate over the Thanksgiving weekend. Someone needs to give this B**CH a FLEET Enima and “FLUSH” her IMMEDIATELY, She is nothing but a “Ghostwritten”, Weezy-wannabe WHORE!”
Although Khia is most known for her single “My Neck, My Back”, the Floridian made it clear that she was the only one who controlled her image.
“Give me an album without any CAMEOS and then you can talk to the Queen….. Cuz I carry this shit on top of “My Neck and My Back,” Solo Hoe! Hell…….Even on top my head, fruit baskets and all!”
Before blasting Minaj track by track, Khia wanted fans to know that she is not a hater and that she earnestly attempted to show support by purchasing the album, which led to her dissatisfaction.
“I don’t want to sound like a hater because I did go out and spend my $13.99 on this”Mop-flop” of an album, “Khia continued. “So hopefully this review will give this BLOW-UP doll a little more promotion….. They built this “Bear” right before our eyes! No hate intended…. Real Talk.”
Not just focusing on one area, Khia also moved her attack to Nicki’s finances and deal with Young Money, claiming that Minaj, “wasn’t making no money” off of the album due to executive producers and all of the work that went into the release.
“I can’t believe I wasted my $13.99 on this BULL S**T, I told yall that it aint no damn Barbies in the hood,” Khia said. “I can’t wait for Matel to sue this b**tch for all of the $3.60 that she earned! When is this b**ch gonna learn that they stealing all of the money?”
Although the blog was centered around Nicki Minaj, Khia made sure to blast one more femcee before she ended her rant.
“By the way, I hear that Foxy Brown is a little upset with because you lied about the feud between Kim and you, but I think Foxy should concentrate on how Kim came and SNATCHED up her record deal! Wasn’t it Fox Boogie Brown that was hanging tough with Jay Z back in the day?”
Khia taunted. “Is that the reason Foxy got soooooooo Big? Or was it THYROIDS, FIBROIDS, HONEY BUNS or TWINKIES? It looks like like someone PUMPED helium straight into her body! At least Lil Kim NIPPED, TUCKED and STUFFED her fat away! Nicki, please give Inga the number to your plastic surgeon and your shrink while you are at! Maybe, you guys can tag team! It takes two to Tango!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Nicki Minaj tells Billboard magazine what she doesn’t want to be labeled as…
“When I started rapping, people were trying to make me like the typical New York rapper, but I’m not that,” Minaj says. “No disrespect to New York rappers, but I don’t want people to hear me and know exactly where I’m from. I wanted the album to be universal and versatile. It really feels like it speaks for every one of my personalities.”

Drake is denying rumors that he got into a physical altercation with his mentor and Young Money head Lil Wayne.
Late last week news broke that Lil Wayne had “disciplined” Drake by punching him in the face at his Las Vegas concert causing him to be banned from entering the Wynn hotel.
According to Drizzy however, those rumors are completely false.
Drake took to his @Drakkardanoir Twitter page to debunk the rumors saying,
“You got the story wrong…Lil Wayne punched me in my arm cause he saw a VW beetle pass by…haaa…YM Forever.”
A rep for Drake has since released a statement saying,
“There were no disruptions. The concert and afterparty went off without a hitch.”
Reports of Wayne being banned from the Wynn are true however, but a hotel rep previously confirmed that the establishment just “didn’t’ want any trouble.”
