An HIV-positive man infected his wife with the virus because he wanted to start having sex with her again.
The 35-year-old injected his blood into the sleeping woman, who had refused to have a physical relationship for a year after discovering he was carrying the virus that causes Aids.
He pricked her twice with a sewing needle laced with his blood, believing the pair would be ‘equals’ once more. But he was behind bars in New Zealand today awaiting sentencing after admitting infecting another person with a disease.
The husband had emigrated to the country in 2004 with his wife and two young children, none of whom can be named.
Immigration officials found he had HIV, but his wife and children did not, during compulsory health checks.
The woman, 33, confronted her partner on discovering she was infected a year later.
She said: ‘All he said was he was sorry. He told me “I used needles on you because I wanted you to be the same as me so that you can live with me and you won’t leave me”.’
She told the court: ‘I just wanted to maintain the relationship for the sake of the children…He insisted on staying and mentioned that he was not worried about sex…any more. All he wanted was to see the children grow with both parents under one roof.’
But in May last year, she said, she discovered a sting-like mark on her left thigh. ‘After having a shower I put some lotion on myself and I could feel pain on my thigh. When I looked at it, it was turning red like a circle, getting and bigger.’
Later that morning, when she returned home from her nursing studies unexpectedly, she said, she saw her husband in the bedroom with a syringe full of blood.
When she asked him what he was doing, he pushed past her and walked away, refusing to discuss it. The wife searched a rubbish bin for evidence of the syringe but found nothing.
The paper reported that two days later the wife woke to a stinging feeling in her leg. ‘In my sleep I felt a prick on my leg I got up..and I flicked the blankets…I looked at (the husband) and he was wide awake.’
She said she asked him if he had pricked her and he said he had not. But later she found evidence of ‘blood sprinkles’ on their duvet, which, she said, her husband tried to hide from her.
She told him to leave the house – and in September, when her doctor suggested a test at a routine check-up, she found she was HIV-positive.
A nurse who had been in contact with the family and who was present when her GP told her the bad news told the court: ‘At this meeting (the woman) was beside herself with emotion. (She) could not work out how she had got HIV because she stated that she had not had sex with her partner for about a year.’
Later, during a meeting with an infectious disease specialist, the husband cried and repeated: ‘Please forgive me.’
The Sunday Star Times quoted Mr Simon Harger-Ford of the New Zealand Aids Foundation as saying that the organisation had never heard of a victim being infected in such a way ‘and with such intent.’

The Story: “My ex didn’t eat pizza, but not because she didn’t like it. In fact, she loved it. She swore off pizza because of the calories. Then she swore off beer, also because of the calories. I understand not wanting to gain weight but come on, splurge once in a while. 2. She doesn’t have a mind of her own.
If you’re talking to a girl and she thinks everything you say is interesting, she probably isn’t thinking at all or is too inarticulate or insecure to share her opinion with you. This inability to think for herself will likely snowball with time — soon she’ll be adopting your interests and agreeing with everything you say, which is a lot more boring than it sounds.

3. She’s obsessed with marriage.
When a girl says she isn’t thinking at all about marriage and just wants to enjoy the moment, do not believe her. She is lying to you and herself — all girls think about marriage. The chicks you need to look out for are those who plan their entire wedding and are merely looking for a man to insert into their delusional fantasy.
The Story: “Considering proposal to my then girlfriend, I went window-shopping for rings. Finding not one perfect diamond, I took it as a sign that the relationship was flawed and decided to slow things down a bit. Well, I knew I had made the right decision when just a few weeks later she asked me where her ring was. Not, Are we going to get married and spend the rest of our lives happy together? but Where’s my ring? Then, when I told her I had to use the money to pay off some bills, she became outraged, throwing a fit.”
4. She tells you not to wear the condom on your first night.
Yes, in the heat of the moment, people make mistakes. If you’re both wasted and it accidentally happens, OK, we get it. But if a chick specifically tells you not to worry about wearing a condom, you need to worry about it — how many other guys has she said that to?
The Story: “At a Super Bowl party my buddies and I were playing flip-cup outside at a friend’s beach house and I charmed some girls into hanging out with us for the day. Things between me and this hot redhead were clicking … After a few games and some witty banter we ended up in my buddy’s bedroom fooling around. After an exhaustive search to find condoms at the house and asking everyone there to no avail, I told her, ‘Oh well, I guess no sex, no big deal.’ To this I got the response: ‘If you promise to be careful you can go right ahead.’ If a girl is willing to let a stranger go raw, and all you have to do is remember to pull out, you should run like I did. 5. She thinks her dog is your child.
You’re not living with the girl but somehow you end up being the one walking her yappy dog (and cleaning up after it) when you’re over at her place. Why? Because you’re its daddy.

6. She “doesn’t give blowjobs.”
What does this mean exactly? Like she doesn’t give head, ever? We don’t get it.
The Story: “I once dated this chick who stopped blowing me after a few months because she ‘didn’t like the taste.’ No offense, but that labyrinth you call your vagina doesn’t taste like sweet, delicious candy. 7. She has a record of dating jerks.
Girls with sketchy dating histories, particularly those who have subjected themselves to serious degradation in multiple relationships, present some major red flags. No, you’re not going to save her; you’ll just end up being the nice guy she once dated.
The Story: “Shortly into a relationship a girl told me that she had had a number of shitty boyfriends, among them a guy who used to make her do push ups and ab exercises every night to keep a lean figure. I obviously laughed when she told me this but seriously, what girl allows herself to be treated so poorly? The answer: the type of girl that, one week post break-up, calls at 3 AM hysterically crying and looking for consolation because the condom worn by some random dude she just met at a bar broke during intercourse. Needless to say, I was glad she was no longer my problem.”

Miss England has been forced to relinquish her crown after an alleged duel with a rival beauty queen over a TV Gladiator. Rachel Christie, niece of Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie, stepped down after being accused of punching Miss Manchester, Sara Beverley Jones, 24, in the face during a night out at a nightclub.
Trouble allegedly flared after Miss Jones showed Miss Christie a message on her phone claiming that it was sent to her by Miss Christie’s boyfriend, David McIntosh, who appears as Tornado in the Sky One television show Gladiators.

Miss Jones, who was dressed as a cavewoman, was taken to hospital, where she was treated for “superficial facial injuries”.
Miss Christie, 21, was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail pending a hearing in January.
The model and athlete, who hopes to win a gold medal at the 2012 Olympics in the heptathlon, has also quit the race to become Miss World to concentrate on clearing her name.
Last night a statement on the Miss England website read: “Due to the media attention following the allegations against her, Rachel Christie has now decided to withdraw from the Miss World competition and relinquish her Miss England crown. Rachel will concentrate on clearing her name and focus on training for the 2012 Olympics until this case is resolved.”
Miss Christie, who was dressed as an angel at the time of the alleged fracas, had been due to leave for the Miss World contest in South Africa next Tuesday. Police were called to the Mansion club in Manchester shortly before 1am on Monday.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “It is believed that, earlier that night, a 24-year-old woman got into an altercation with another woman in the club and was hit in the face several times.
“The victim was taken to Hope Hospital, where she received treatment for superficial facial injuries. She has now been discharged.”
It is believed that Mr McIntosh, a 15st former Royal Marine, is a former boyfriend of Miss Manchester.
Miss Christie was the first black woman to be crowned Miss England. When she won the title in July, she pledged to be a role model for black youth. “One of my reasons for doing Miss England in the first place was because I wanted to show people, the younger generation especially, that you can do something positive with your life,” Miss Christie had said, adding that she had turned to modelling to fund her training.
“Whoever you are, you can be who you want and whatever you want.”
Her father, Russell, had been a promising athlete but was arrested for theft and stabbed to death during a drugs-related dispute in 1996. Four years earlier, he had been jailed for attacking a former lover.
Mr McIntosh cites Rambo as his greatest inspiration and says he likes to “chill out with a cup of green tea” in preparation for his television battles.
Miss Christie has been replaced as Miss England by Lance Corporal Katrina Hodge, who came second in the pageant. Miss Hodge, 22, who was awarded a commendation from her unit, the 1st Batallion, Royal Anglian Regiment, for her actions during a posting in 2005 in Basra, has been given leave from her duties as a soldier to appear in the Miss World final.

Dame Dash just laughs off stories about how he is supposedly in dire straits financially. He gets so much of a kick out of it that he doesn’t rush to defend himself against the rumors. These days, Dame is back where he started, making music independently along with brokering art and producing television.
Dash has a complex in lower Manhattan, DD172, where he has two music studios and an art gallery, and also publishes a magazine and maintains CreativeControl.tv. Mos Def has dubbed the building the “24/7 karate school” because of all of the artists that come through and work together, including Mos, the Black Keys, Jay Electronica, Jim Jones, the RZA, Raekwon the Chef and producer Ski (Reasonable Doubt) to name a few.
Dash says everyone is welcome, just as long as no one brings negativity.
“I’m not teaching violence. No beef! None of that. I don’t have beef with nobody.”
Dash’s name has popped up in headlines dealing with Beanie Sigel’s recent lash-out against Jay-Z. During some recent interviews, Beans accused Dash of shady business dealings when the two were putting out the State Property PRO-Keds sneakers.
“Him and the licensee who licensed Rocawear went behind my back and obtained the license to the company that was licensing PRO-Keds and stopped making the State Property PRO-Keds,” Beans said on Philadelphia radio station Power 99. “It was all geared towards Roc-A-Wear.”
Dame said he did not want to address any specifics regarding Sigel, but did say he did not want any beef.
“I love Jay, I love Beans — what’s the reason for beef?” Dash responded. “That’s stupid. What’s the reason for beef? People die, people don’t feel good — I want people to laugh. What’s up, y’all?”
Dame was shocked to hear Beanie on the radio.
“I was surprised. I was hurt for him, more or less, because I know that ain’t him,” Dash said. “But I don’t want to speak on that. Whatever [Beanie's] going through where he’s got to do that … I could understand where he may look at things and feel that way. I can see that. He’s probably got a lot of people around him and nobody to really tell him what’s going on. It was a different environment for Roc-A-Fella back then. I feel bad for those cats. I love those cats. I hate that they struggle. I hate it. I hate to see anybody struggle. I don’t embrace that. I’m not one of those dudes that get happy when I hear something bad about somebody I had a bond with. I really loved those dudes. You see Ski down there, I knew Ski for 20 years. That’s my man. Sometimes people have different agendas for why they don’t wanna be my friend. But at the end of the day, I’m always there for them.”
On November 27, Dash releases the first album from his Black Roc label — the next LP from the Black Keys, under the name Blackroc. The album features Jim Jones, the RZA, Raekwon the Chef, Mos Def, Q-Tip, Billy Danze and Pharoahe Monch.
