ASAP Rocky Speaks On $3 Million Deal!

New York rapper ASAP Rocky was just starting buzz when he signed his deal with Polo Grounds Music/RCA earlier this month.

So what made the NYC newcomer sign his name to the dotted line so quickly?

Well, according to the rapper, “About three million dollars.”

“[Other rappers who don't sign] are smart, but I feel like Sony/RCA is a family and the people there actually care about me,” ASAP Rocky said to Pitchfork.

“When I came to meet [Polo Grounds Music founder] Bryan Leach, I got to know him on a personal level– he would set up car service for me to go to other labels.”

“He wanted to see me make it. He’s from Harlem.”

To breakdown Rocky’s deal, $1.7 million goes towards his solo projects, while $1.3 million will fund his A$AP Worldwide imprint.

“I’m going to have creative control; there’s no bullsh*t,”
he said.

“The situation is almost unrealistic. I mean, five months ago I had about $3,000 in my bank account. Now I’m worth $3 million.”

“Nobody’s gotten a deal like that since 50 Cent.”

A $3 million record deal for a kid that’s only really been out for a few months? What recession?

ASAP Rocky’s LIVELOVEA$AP mixtape is scheduled to drop on Monday.
