Nicki Minaj can celebrate more than just a new year; the Young Money emcee can now boast that she’s a platinum selling artist.
The RIAA has confirmed that The Barbie’s debut album Pink Friday has been certified platinum with 1 million copies sold.
Pink Friday was certified gold in December with over 500,000 units sold.
Minaj’s album sales have surpassed Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and Jay-Z’s Greatest Hits which were all released on the same day.

After less than a month on the charts, Nicki Minaj‘s debut Pink Friday has been certified gold pushing past 500,000 albums sold.
Barbie stands at the #6 Billboard spot after moving 81,900 additional copies last week outselling Kanye for the first time since the two albums were released on the same day by close to 16,000 copies.
In related news, Minaj is set to bring in the new year with a performance on “NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly.”
The show airs New Years Eve 10:00pm EST.
