Flo Rida was pulled over last night in a $1.7 million Bugatti for DUI. The rapper was said to be swerving in his lane and was stopped at about 3:30 am. Flo Rida was given a sobriety test in which he failed. “Cops say Flo’s blood alcohol level was .185 … more than twice the legal limit.”
According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, cops say a large crowd gathered around Flo after cops had pulled him over. Several bystanders were “trying to get officers to let [Flo Rida] go. Some individuals were offering to drive [Flo] home.” When the officer tried to conduct a “walk the line” test — Flo told the cop, “Officer I can’t do this. I don’t feel I can’t walk a straight line. I had a few drinks. Let’s try another test.” Flo then tried to convince the officer, “I can make it home.” Cops didn’t let him try.

The Miami-based rapper’s debut smash single “Low,” from his debut album “Mail On Sunday,” has been named the top-selling digital song of the decade with over 5.2 million digital downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. In addition, his 2009 hit single “Right Round” ranks #11 this decade, with nearly 4 million digital downloads sold.
This isn’t the first time Flo Rida has made digital history. “Right Round,” from the rapper’s 2009 album “R.O.O.T.S.” remains the highest-selling digital debut of all time. The track also remains the highest selling one-week digital single in history, with more than 636,000 downloads sold its debut week.
The former one-week record, which was held by Flo Rida for “Low,” ranks #2 all-time with more than 467,000 digital downloads sold in a single week. In addition, “Right Round” is the fastest-selling digital single ever, with 1 million downloads sold in just two weeks.
“Low” also ranks high on a handful of decade-end charts: #3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, #4 on the Nielsen RingScan chart, #5 on Nielsen’s BDS Pop Songs chart, #8 on Billboard’s Radio Songs chart, and #13 on Nielsen’s BDS Rap Songs chart.
Flo Rida has been nominated for two Grammys this year. “R.O.O.T.S.” is nominated for Best Rap Album, his first time to be nominated in the category. Flo Rida is also included in the Album of the Year category for his contribution on Lady GaGa’s “The Fame.” In addition, Flo Rida is nominated for his second People’s Choice Award for Hip Hop Artist of the Year.
What’s more, Flo Rida was recently named one of People Magazine’s Sexiest Men Alive. The issue, which hit newsstands in late November, included fellow musicians Tim McGraw, Chris Daughtry, and Josh Groban.
Flo Rida is currently in the studio recording his third album, yet to be titled. The collection is expected to be released Spring 2010.
