Montel Williams is not only becoming an advocate of medical marijuana, he’s about to sell it.
Claiming prescription drugs almost shut down his kidneys, Williams was given the suggestion by a doctor to try some cannabis sativa and it worked for him.
“We’ve been caught up in culture surrounding medical marijuana that’s 20 years old,” Williams said. “While adhering to every single state law, we want to provide safe access for patients and really medicalize this. Patients should be put first.”
The Abatin Wellness Cooperative facility is heavily monitored by cameras, no weed can be consumed on the property and the “medicine” isn’t even visible to the public. He wants the center to be somewhere that your parents would feel comfortable going to for help.
Williams said he wants to change the stigma surrounding doctor-prescribed pot use.
“It’s absurd. I can go get morphine pumped into my system and nobody’s got a problem,” he said. “But all of a sudden they’re really worried if I smoked a joint.”
According to the news report:
Cornell Hood II just couldn’t stay out of trouble.
Hood moved from eastern New Orleans to the Slidell area after he admitted to separate charges of distribution of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana on Dec. 18, 2009, in Orleans Parish Criminal District Court. He received a suspended five-year prison sentence and five years’ of probation for each — which was precisely the same penalty he got in that court after pleading guilty to possessing and intending to distribute marijuana on Feb. 22, 2005.
When Hood switched homes, he also requested a new probation officer based in St. Tammany. Authorities granted the wish, and the officer, Dustin Munlin, drove to Hood’s place for a routine visit on Sept. 27, 2010. Munlin found nearly two pounds of pot throughout the house, according to court records. He alerted Sheriff’s Office deputies. Prosecutors later charged him with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
At his trail which lasted one day Cornell was charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana which usually results in less than 15 year sentence but in New Orleans people are subject to life imprisonment after being convicted three or more times of a crime that carries a sentence exceeding 10 years.
Wow, this seems a bit severe for weed.. you getting life for weed man..SMDH!

Eminem fell off the radar for a few years before finally resurfacing earlier this year. He’s talked about his addiction to prescription drugs before, but we never knew to what extent it had gotten to–until now.
Em says he “100 percent” identities with the late Michael Jackson, who died of acute Propofol intoxication, because he could only function or sleep if he had taken prescription medication.
He said: “When you read things about Michael Jackson it’s hard to decipher what the f**k is true, but there’s the story of how he woke up at whatever time and he needed something to go back to sleep because he had this or that and it didn’t work. That’s exactly what used to happen to me: I would take a couple of pills and I would be up an hour later and I’d want more.”
“Then I’d take more and that would be enough to maybe get me back to sleep for two more hours. Then I’d be wide awake again. So I definitely can relate, and it’s a shame if he didn’t have anybody there to just say, ‘Michael, you’re an addict, you need help.’ ”
It really is a shame that more people didn’t try to help Michael. His family said they tried to stage an intervention “once,” but they should have tried every single day because they knew how bad his addiction had gotten.
He added to Complex magazine: “I feel better. I feel like a human being again. There was one point in time where I felt like plastic. “I think I looked plastic. My face was like fat plastic. I was eating, but the Vicodin made me hungry because it eats up your stomach lining, so you want to fill your stomach back up, but then it stops you up so you can’t s**t. That’s why I was gaining so much weight, I was just so f***ing bloated.”
We may have lost Michael, but hopefully his story will be a wake up call to others who have spiraled out of control in regards to prescription medication.
Lindsay Lohan had a wild night at a private house party this morning, but it seems like the real party was in one of the bathrooms! During the early morning festivities, we spotted Brandon Davis and Lindsay Lohan engaging in some very suspicious activities in the bathroom … check out the video below to see for yourself!
A photographer on the scene tells X17online exclusively:
“Last night I saw Brandon in the bathroom standing in front of the window, and you can imagine my surprise when I then saw Lindsay bouncing around the room too – clearly there was a whole different kind of party going on in there! After a few minutes, a photographer’s flash went off, and the party buddies saw it and closed the window, but it appears as though they stayed in there and continued partaking in some questionable activities!”
