The DCPD is conducting an internal investigation to see if celebrities such as Jigga, Bill Gates and Charlie Sheen – also named in the investigation – may have obtained police escorts, violating department procedure.
Police Chief Kathy Ranier recently voiced the department’s take on the matter saying police escorts are strictly for “presidents, vice presidents, visiting heads of state, mayor and others, if there’s a public safety issue.”
The New York police department was recently under a similar investigation after rap mogul Diddy reportedly received an unauthorized police escort to a party following one of his concerts.
