Recently the superstar did a photoshoot for L’Officiel Paris, a magazine in France. Although Beyonce graced the cover, another photo inside the magazine stood out. Face darkened and clothed in a cheetah-spotted dress, L’Officiel says it was supposed to portray a “return to her African roots, as you can see on the picture, on which her face was voluntarily darkened.”
But people are looking at it as more than just a photoshoot and tribute to Feli Kuti (Nigerian musician.) They feel like Beyonce is treating blackness like a fashion accessory and Charing Ball says its “flat-out offensive.”
