A law was recently passed in California allowing schools to teach Gay History, which will shed light on the historical accomplishments of gay men and lesbians.
Governor Jerry Brown hasn’t went public on his views concerning the law, but if he takes no action in 12 days, the measure would become law automatically.
Public schools in California already teach the importance of the contributions made to society by women and minorities that were historically discriminated against, such as blacks, Latinos and Native Americans. The latest bill would add lesbians, bisexuals, gays and transgender individuals to the curriculum of history and other social studies classes.
it could be several years before these subjects are implemented into student’s textbooks, even if the governor signs off on the bill.
