The wife of Hot 97 personality Funkmaster Flex has announced that she and her husband have separated.
It is unknown whether the separation is related to Flex’s February arrest. His wife released the following statement to urbanmag-online.com:
“After almost 18 years of friendship and marriage it is with great regret that I announce my husband Aston Taylor, also known as Funkmaster Flex, and I are separated. We have tremendous love and respect for each-other, and will continue to work on our professional projects together. Our top priority has and will always be our children!
I personally ask that the press keep in mind Flex is the celebrity, not myself or my children, please respect our privacy!”
The separation falls right on the heels of hard times for another Hot 97 deejay, Mr. Cee, who was embroiled in a highly-publicized arrest for public lewdness.
ESPN reports the New Jersey Nets received a $50,000 fine due to Jay-Z’s presence in a University of Kentucky locker room after the men’s team clenched a Final Four birth. Jay-Z is a minority owner of the Nets—his share is reportedly worth 1.5%. As a team owner, minority or otherwise, Jay-Z’s presence violated league rules that prohibit contact with players that still have remaining intercollegiate basketball eligibility.
It’s time for the fist-pumping guido-loving drama to go OFF the scale!
The three housemates will star in two, as yet untitled, reality projects – set to premiere on MTV in 2012.
Confirming the news in an official statement, Chris Linn, MTV executive vice president of programming and head of production, said,
“The ‘Jersey Shore’ cast is at the center of the show’s ongoing success, and Nicole, Pauly D and Jenni have become household names as a result of their unique, sometimes outrageous and often hilarious personalities.”
First up, BFFs Snooki and Jwoww will team up for a series that’s set to give viewers a true look at what life, love and friendship is like away from Seaside Heights.
Spilling on what fans can expect, Snooks told MTV,
“It’s pretty much just the concept of me and Jenni being on our own without our roommates.”
And Jwoww added, “It was a concept before the show [was green-lit]. We legitimately just wanted to buy a house together.
“She wanted to get out of her dad’s, and I wanted to move out of the home that everyone could see on TV, so they were like, ‘Let’s shoot it!’”
Meanwhile, Pauly D will take the spotlight in his own 12-episode show as he continues to pursue his dream of becoming one of the most successful and regonised DJ’s in the music business.
“I used to be this DJ in Rhode Island, DJing two sets a week, hustling, promoting,” he told MTV. “And all of a sudden, I’m on this show, and now they’re sending private jets for me to DJ for these huge crowds, yet I’m still the same guy that was DJing for 200 people, just loving life.”
Are you stoked for the ‘Jersey Shore’ spin-offs?
