The giant meat-procession company
Tyson Foods settled a bias claim by
agreeing with a government finding
that it had discriminated against
both Blacks and whites at its bacon
processing plant in Vernon. The
company admitted to favoring
Hispanics when filling positions at
the plant. Over 530 applicants
(over 150 Black and nearly 375
white) will now share $560,000 in
back pay.
