N. Korea Says It Ready For The U.S.!!!

north_korean_military

First Iran challenges the U.S. and starts preparing mass graves for our troops, now N. Korea is poppin’ sh*t. They believe that the U.S. is practicing for war because they eventually plan to have one and the “drills” they conduct are just preparation for the real thing.

SEOUL (AFP) – North Korea’s military threatened Sunday to launch the “severest punishment” against South Korea for staging massive joint war games with the United States this week.

The North’s army and people will “deal a merciless counterblow” to the allies “as it had already resolved and declared at home and abroad”, a spokesman for the country’s army General Staff said in a statement published by state media.

“The military counteraction of (North Korea) will be the severest punishment no one has ever met in the world,” he said.

The warning came a day before US and South Korean troops begin the 10-day computerized war games called “Ulchi Freedom Guardian (UFG)”.

About 30,000 US soldiers will take part in the exercise, a US military spokesman said, adding an unspecified number of American soldiers based in the United States would join in via computer networks. Some 56,000 South Korean soldiers will also be mobilized for the war games, a defense ministry spokesman said.

Last month South Korea and the United States held a massive joint naval and air drill in the Sea of Japan (East Sea), which were opposed by Beijing.

A week ago South Korea ended its largest-ever anti-submarine drill including live-fire training near the disputed Yellow Sea border.

The war manoeuvres including the UFG exercise “represent the phase of practical actions aimed at a full-dressed military invasion”, the North’s spokesman said.

“The more recklessly the warmongers persist in the war rackets as a result of wrong policy option, the faster and deeper they will fall into the grave of self-destruction,” he said.

China also issued a warning Friday that a US decision to use a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier in joint drills with the South constitutes a “fresh provocation” to China and its neighbors.

In a commentary published in the official China Daily, Rear Admiral Yang Yi said Washington would “pay a costly price for its muddled decision” to participate in further drills near Chinese territory over Beijing’s objection.

Yang also warned it was “inadvisable” to push a country of 1.3 billion people, noting that there was instead a wide scope for US-China naval cooperation should Washington choose the route of caution.

Last week, Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said future joint US-South Korea drills would involve the nuclear-powered USS George Washington in the Yellow Sea.

Ironically, America works hard to find weapons of mass destruction and disarm other nations, all the while finding bigger and better ways to arm themselves. We don’t know about this one. The North Korean Army has a mean high step.

Indiana Pacers Rookie Lance Stephenson Arrested For Pushing His Baby Mama Down The Stairs!

Lance Stephenson

Not again. Are run-ins with the law a prerequisite to NBA success? 19-year-old Lance Stephenson, a 2nd round NBA draft pick just got signed in June and has already gotten into trouble. He was arrested yesterday for allegedly tossing his girl down a flight of stairs.

Coney Island basketball star Lance Stephenson – a second-round pick of the Indiana Pacers in the June NBA draft – was busted yesterday for pushing his girlfriend down a flight of stairs, cops said.

Stephenson, 19, a legendary player at Brooklyn’s Abraham Lincoln High School, roughed up Jasmine Williams, 21, at her Brooklyn apartment building about 5 a.m., police said.

The 6-foot-5 rookie point guard’s cowardly shove sent Williams – the mother of Stephenson’s child – tumbling headfirst down 10 steps, requiring her to be treated at a hospital for injuries to her head and neck, cops said.

It was not clear what prompted the violence, which stunned Stephenson’s former youth league coach, Joe Packer.

“It’s a shame because everything seemed to be going so well,” Packer said, referring to the couple’s relationship.

Stephenson, who played one year at the University of Cincinnati before getting drafted 40th overall by the Pacers, was hit with a felony rap of second-degree assault, cops said.

He was also booked on charges of third-degree assault, harassment and menacing. Prosecutors added a charge of criminal possession of a weapon, but a spokesman could not specify what the weapon was.

Stephenson had been considered a first-round talent but dropped to the second round due to off-the-court issues, including a 2008 bust for sexually abusing a 17-year-old girl inside Lincoln High School.

Following his arrest yesterday, Stephenson met with his agent, Alberto Ebanks, Packer said. Ebanks represented the troubled star in his 2008 arrest, which was resolved when he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

Stephenson, who inked a deal with the Pacers that will reportedly pay him $700,000 for the upcoming season, was a scoring machine at Lincoln, finishing his high school career as the leading scorer in New York State history.

He won four city championships while at Lincoln, making him an heir to the Coney Island hoops tradition established by former NBA star Stephon Marbury and current member of the Minnesota Timberwolves Sebastian Telfair.

Halle Berry On The September Issue Of Vogue Magazine

On why she’s talking now:

“What (being on the cover of the September Vogue) means for a woman of color and what that means in the fashion world, what that means to pop culture, there was no way I could say, ‘No, I’m not going to be on the biggest issue of the year.’ “

On her split with model Gabriel Aubry:

“It’s just that you realize you are not meant to go the distance with everybody. … We were meant to bring this amazing little person into the world. And I think that’s why we came together. And because of that, we are going to be together forever, all three of us…I am a hopeless romantic. And I won’t stop till I get it right. … I don’t think I’m unlike a lot of people. I am just someone who is trying to find that mate, and I think it’s a really hard thing to do. And I’m not willing to stay somewhere where I am really not happy.”

Lindsay Lohan Might Be Released From Rehab This Week!

Lindsay Lohan could leave her drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility as early as this week.

After a prosecutor said last week that the actress may be able to avoid her full 90-day sentence in rehab, TMZ now reports that it is “very possible” that she could leave as early as this week and begin outpatient care.

“Doctors have not written their final report, but they have already concluded her psychiatric problems are not nearly as severe as first thought,” the site said. “In addition, the doctors do not believe the drug dependency issues are as severe as first thought.”

One obstacle is the judge who must approve an early release.
