Chris Brown Announces His Support For Tiger Woods

E Online: Chris Brown and Tiger Woods are the same kind of cat. At least, that’s what the musician thinks.

During an interview with Mojo in the Morning, the “Forever” singer shares his sympathy for the troubled golfer when asked about the swinger’s public apology.

“My hat goes off to him,” Chris says. “I support him. I hope he gets back on the field and does his thing because he is the best at it.”

But the chatter doesn’t stop there. Without prodding, Rihanna’s ex-beau, a self-proclaimed nontroublemaker, offers a comparison to their current dramatic plights.

“I think people always deserve a second chance,” he says. “I know my fans gave me a second chance and people gave me a second chance.”

In Brown’s mind, it’s all about what you do in public, not behind closed doors.

“Whatever his personal life is—and I think this goes for me and him—his personal life is his personal life. Nobody has the right to place judgment or make any judgment on somebody else’s personal life when they’re not directly involved with them,” he continues. “He plays golf. That’s his sport, that’s his hobby, that’s his love, that’s what people love him for. They don’t love him for the other stuff that they talk about. Even with me, I do music, I sing songs, I’m an entertainer, I’m a performer. But people make mistakes.

“I think people have to realize that everybody’s human. The good thing is, if you learn from your mistakes, then that’s a part of life. I think that’s a part of living and learning from mistakes and becoming a better person and growing from situations.”

However, despite their similarities, Brown isn’t picking up the phone to talk to Tiger directly.

“I think at this point, he has a lot of that going right now,” he explains. “I’m more of a fan from the back. I don’t want to place myself too far into it. As soon as I say something, they’re going to put me on the front page of the news…and it’s a bigger story than it needs to be, you know?”

Too late now.

Lil Wayne Mad People Making Fun Of His Tweets

http://www.hollywire.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/lil-wayne-expecting-third-child.jpg

Less than a week after officially joining Twitter, it looks like Lil Wayne may now give up on the micro-blogging service. He sent word on Thursday (February 25) that he’s going to stop using Twitter because the feedback led him to believe his messages weren’t wanted.

Gunna stop with the tweets now that I see they’re so unliked,” Wayne wrote. “It’s a mirror of my thoughts, and obviously my thoughts aren’t [welcome]. Sorry.”

The rapper has only posted 18 times so far, but the sporadic tweets have been a mix of testing the waters and cryptic dispatches that are as loaded as his rhymes.

Love is a road without signs, yet we still drive bekuz we kan only imagine what’s ahead,” he wrote on Wednesday.

While the Cash Money Records superstar’s presence on Twitter has been supported by many — he already has over 172,000 followers — it appears he’s been reading responses to his tweets that aren’t very flattering.

Comedian Lil Duval has joked about the rapper’s philosophical tweets at Wayne’s expense. “I just found out Lil Wayne has a Twitter,” he wrote. “I just read his page, and I don’t have a clue bout what he’s talking ’bout.”

Duval then started the hash tag #LilWayneDeepTweets.

When walking thru a path we see…………….the road,” the comedian wrote, mocking Wayne’s style.

Other Twitter members then followed with an array of imitated Lil Wayne tweets. “I stood outside,” the 305 wrote. “Does that make me outstanding?

But Wayne’s fans have rallied with #weezydontleave. “You got me up at 3.30AM,” DorinaFbaby, a fan from Australia, wrote. “Barely awake beggin you to stay!

Next week, the rapper is expected to be sentenced to one year in prison after reaching a plead deal in his 2007 gun case. Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted gun possession and was set to begin his incarceration earlier this month, but a judge allowed a postponement due to dental surgery Wayne needed. Last week, he underwent eight root canals in one day.

Patti Labelle Goes In On American Idol Panel

Fox’s hit show American Idol took a couple shots this week from someone who knows what she is talking about.

R&B diva Patti Labelle told the Associated Press that the judging panel could use an overhaul.

Some of the judges, I don’t think they’re qualified to even judge,” she said in an interview Wednesday.

While she wasn’t specific about one particular judge, her comments mirror what a lot of fans already think.

Idol added a fourth judge to the competition last year. A move that doesn’t appear to have made a real difference in the quality of the show.

Paula Abdul, who was the only judge to have had a singing career before Kara DioGuardi was added, left the show before this season started.

Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres are in charge of finding this year’s Idol.

Ms Labelle thinks they are out of line with some of their criticisms of the singers.

The comments that were made, they could make you like wanna kill yourself,” the 65-year-old singer said.

Her advice to anyone trying out for the show is “If you believe in yourself, just go for it. What do you have to lose? And when people tell you ‘You can’t,’ you have to say, ‘I can.’”

Ice Cube Announces His Ninth Studio Album “I Am The West”

Rap-Up Reports:

The West Coast is officially back. If the forthcoming release of Snoop Dogg’s More Malice and Game’s R.E.D. Album weren’t enough, now L.A.’s own Ice Cube is returning to the scene with his ninth studio album.

The rapper-turned-actor has announced the title, I Am the West, and tentative release date for his first musical project since 2008’s Raw Footage. In a blog entry dated Wednesday (Feb. 24), Cube also laments about the current state of radio and thanks the West Coast MCs who have kept the genre alive.

I AM THE WEST…is the name of my new record. After completing about 65% of my music, this is the perfect title. This shit is cocky, no apologies,West Coast gangsta shit. I can’t help it. That’s what I do. June seems too tight for a release, but July is very doable. We’ll see how things go. Now that I have my title, I can work on the concept of my photoshoot and artwork. I want to provide early merch before the drop date.

For 7 or 8 years now the West Coast has been trying to do music that appeals to the South and Mid-West. The words, “too West Coast” would be heard throughout the industry whenever our music was played. Even by our own dj’s. Left coast MC’s were now trying to change their sound to cater to all the followers. We lost our way. Thank God for b-boys like Snoop, The Game & WC for keeping the West alive, but we were all guilty of over reaching. No more. At least not from me. I do it how I feel it; not how I think it should be done. Radio fucked us up. I hate the politics at radio. I don’t know who to pay to get my shit played. Having a hot song is not enough. Ridiculous.

I AM THE WEST. It’s coming….

Keep It Gangsta
Ice Cube

MTV: G-Unit’s Beg For Mercy Is Named The Best Hip-Hop Posse Album

MTV reports:

On Tuesday (February 23), the MTV Newsroom blog asked whether the showcase album from Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment was the finest hip-hop posse album of all time. Based on the comments, it seems as though the concept was a little confusing. The poll was meant to focus on albums from groups who were introduced after the team’s alpha dog had already become famous. So while Wu-Tang Clan’s Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers is far superior to all the albums we mentioned in the poll, it doesn’t count because those MCs made their debuts as part of a group. (However, if Method Man had released Tical before Enter the Wu-Tang had dropped, the it would have easily taken first place.)

With that in mind, the poll ended up being a two horse race. 50 Cent’s G-Unit crew ended up in the top spot, with their 2003 album Beg for Mercy snagging a whopping 43 percent of the vote. Lil Wayne’s Young Money group came in just a few steps behind with 38 percent. After that, the drop off was significant: Ruff Ryders’ Ryde or Die Vol. 1 picked up six percent and Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s Conspiracy only grabbed three percent. Tragically, Flipmode Squad’s The Imperial brought up the rear with only one percent of the vote — a disappointing showing considering the consistency and quality of that record (seriously, listen to “We Got U Opin (Part 2)” and try not to be knocked out).

One commenter brought up a pair of albums that made for excellent suggestions. We totally forgot about Dungeon Family’s Even in Darkness, which is a little big spotty but contains some killer production and excellent outer space rhymes from the members of Outkast and Goodie Mob. That same commenter also brought up the Diggin’ in the Crates Crew, which is something of a strange case because their one great album as a collective (2000′s D.I.T.C.) came out after one of the group’s key members (Big L) died. Plus, star member Fat Joe didn’t have his commercial breakthrough until 2001. D.I.T.C. is a great album regardless, but probably not eligible in this context. (However, Joe’s albums with Terror Squad definitely fall into this category, and we probably unfairly overlooked 2004′s True Story.)

In fact, for the benefit of paying respect to the group albums that are simply great because of the people involved, answer this question: Which is the best hip-hop group album of all time? It’s easy to cite the best solo records in history (Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie and the rest), but what teams stand tall? Let us know in the comments!
