Is NY Rap Gone?
First you have to believe NY Rap is gone, even though Jay-Z killed it in sales. If NY Rap is gone, is it Cam’ron, Juelz, & Jim Jones as “Dipset Reunited” that will bring it back? Slaughterhouse’s Joe Budden has opened up about what it would take to bring back New York hip-hop and how a Dipset reunion could be a great starting point. Writing via Twitter, Budden also suggested a Raekwon and Ghostface Killah album could help the Big Apple make a comeback.
“i really liked Loon btw…. he needs to come back,” Joey wrote early Tuesday (February 23) morning. “& call me crazy, but Juelz [Santana], Jimmy [Jones] & Cam can bring New York back… I really believe that. Cam’ron recently applauded Jay-Z for helping ignite the New York rap game with his Blueprint III release last fall.
“Jay-Z done made it look real good,” Cam said in an interview. “Jay-Z just sold 530,000 so it’s still looking good. Whenever there’s ever anybody out in New York still doing over half a million in a week, it’s still available. I don’t really f*ck with Jay but I got mad respect for anybody who makes money and anybody who still sells that much records after having a lot of albums out. Jay-Z really definitely did help out New York a lot.”
Rap veteran AZ previously spoke with SOHH about 2010 being “the” year for New York rap.
“Hey listen, I know I’m putting an album out next year so hopefully for 2010, the whole New York vibe will get back where it’s supposed to be,” AZ told SOHH. “You know, and like I said, the bar [will] get raised for hip-hop.”

Allen Iverson’s Takes Indefinite Leave To Care For Ailing Daughter
Allen Iverson’s career has been put on hold indefinitely due to ongoing issues with his daughter’s health.
In a statement, the Sixers confirmed that Iverson has been given a leave from the team indefinitely to deal with a personal issue related to the health of his young daughter.
“At this time, we feel that it is in the best interest of the Sixers, Allen and his family that he be allowed to deal with a very serious issue that is far greater than the game of basketball,” team president and general manager Ed Stefanski states.
According to Yahoo! Sports, Sixers’ coach Eddie Jordan addressed the team on Sunday (February 21), telling players that there was a chance Iverson would not return to the team.
Iverson missed five games and the 2010 All-Star Game in which he was voted to start in earlier this month to deal with his daughter’s health problems.
At press time, the timeframe of A.I.’s absence as well as the problem ailing his 4-year-old daughter Messiah has not been disclosed.

Massachusetts Man Busted For Having Bed Made Of Marijuana
A Massachusetts man is facing cannabis trafficking charges after police discovered that he had a bed made of 102 pounds of marijuana.
Police pulled over 40-year-old Hung The Truong for failing to follow a traffic violation.
When he opened his window they detected the strong smell of marijuana and searched the U-Haul truck attached to his vehicle.
They discovered 17 packages of the drug inside a pull-out bed and 79 packages of the substance in a hollowed-out box spring.
His bond has been set at $2 million.

Man Intentionally Spreads HIV To A 100 Women
Police in Indiana have 47-year-old Tony Perkins in custody after they say he purposely tried to spread the HIV virus to 100 women over a period of five years.
His ex-girlfriend who was involved with Perkins and wishes to remain anonymous, turned him in and tells 6News Indiana,
“It’s my personal mission to help save lives. God spared me. I’ve tested negative for a year. My last AIDS test was in February. Maybe I was the angel to stop the anti-Christ.
Authorities say Perkins used popular dating website PlentyOfFish.com to contact women, wine and dine them before passing along the virus.
She then says that when she asked him why he did it he replied,
“A whore gave it to me, so if a whore wants to sleep with me on the first night, she deserves what she gets.”
Police believe he had unprotected sex with at least 100 women, 10 of which have come forward so far.
Police now say they’ll go through his cell phone records to try and notify the other women.
He has been charged with failure of carriers of dangerous communicable diseases to warn persons at risk and intimidation.
